Our laboratory center is located in Hoeltinghausen in the region of Oldenburger Muensterland in northwest of Germany. The Oldenburger Muensterland is characterised by agriculture and food industry. AniCon Labor GmbH was founded mid 2005 as a service laboratory. Anicon’s continuously expanded diagnostics and uncompromising service mentality and its function as an independent advisory lab result in a constant growth. Today AniCon is one of Germany‘s leading lab service providers for livestock and a worldwide known and modern lab center with comprehensive experimental opportunities for cattle, swine, poultry and fish.
AniCon: a success-story
AniCon Labor GmbH
AniCon („Animal Control“) was founded by Dr Klaus-Peter Behr, a poultry veterinarian, and started mid 2005 with a total staff of 10 and activities in veterinary diagnostics, food safety and a small scale of avian autogenous vaccines. Martin Liman PhD, also a veterinarian, but with a laboratory and molecular background, joined AniCon in 2006. Focused first on diagnostics and vaccines for turkey and waterfowl production in Germany, AniCon today serves with a group of 30 highly specialized academics and a total staff of 100 not only the poultry and swine as well as the vaccine industries in many countries, but also started diagnostic as well as vaccine activities for cattle and fish.

Besides post-mortems and cultural bacteriology the diagnostic portfolio also covers serology, cultural virology as well as a very broad spectrum of molecular diagnostics including sequencing. AniCons autogenous vaccine portfolio today covers 33 bacterial and 13 viral antigens in almost any combination and for use in different avian species as well as in swine, cattle or fish. Since 2014 AniCon also produces In-Vitro-Diagnostics (IVD) under its own brand Kylt®, namely PCR-kits for use in many labs around the globe.

The preparation of samples can also be realized on Saturdays and Sundays as well as on public holiday: please announce these samples in advance.

In the field of Salmonella testing by PCR we regularly work at night and forwarded the results of rapid test methods in due time.

DAkkS certificate PL-14290-01: Our work concerning the veterinary field and feed and food testing including drinking water are accredited according to 17025:2005. Our laboratory work in the fields mentioned above includes the bacteriological, serological and molecular biological diagnostic as well as the microbiological and chemical analytics.

Quality Policy
As a service laboratory AniCon Labor GmbH was founded in mid 2005.

The scope of services includes chemical, microbiological and molecular biological analysis of feed, food and drinking water as well as pathologic-anatomical and laboratory investigations of livestock. The scope of services also includes the production of flock specific vaccines, the production of in-vitro diagnostics as well as consulting activities.

Within its flexible accreditation and according to the marking in the annex of accreditation certificate, the AniCon Labor GmbH has the opportunity to include further methods into the scope of accreditation:

Within the testing ranges indicated with * and following the corresponding validation the free choice of standardized test methods or equated standardized test methods after is possible.

Within the testing ranges indicated with ** the modification and further and new development of test methods is possible.

The technical employees work according to the general principles and procedure instructions of DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 and are familiar with the quality documentation.

The laboratory services are described within the documentation system and are carried out according to the descriptions. To ensure an ongoing review the laboratory regularly participates in proficiency test.
